It’s a nicely slim device but of robust width and weight.

The retail package contains a nice looking wired headset, standard USB cable, a two-piece charger which uses the USB cable to connect the handset to the plug. The 8 GB micros SD card and carrying case are made of polar-fleece-like fabric. There also a screen protector, two discs quick user guide and a bunch of brochures included.

The HTC Touch HD still has a very pleasant design with rounded corners and polished looks. The edges on both the front and the rear are sloping which makes the phone very ergonomic and pleasant to hold. The back panel has a soft rubbery finish for a secure non-slip grip and is immune to fingerprints. The front in contrast, which is almost entirely taken by the quality display leaves an ample space for fingerprint smudges. The HTC logo and the secondary video call camera are flanking the earpiece grill which accommodates the proximity sensor. The USB port located at the bottom of the phone, the microphone pinhole and stylus compartment in the lower right corner. A 5 megapixel camera lens nestled within a bulging brushed metal plate. There is no LED flash. The standard Li-Ion battery with capacity of 1350 mAh ensures about 2 day of intensive usage of the Touch HD.

Main Disadvantages:

* A wee bit overweight
* Sizeable body (still within acceptable limits though)
* Average sunlight legibility
* Video recording maxes out at CIF@30fps
* There’s no dedicated camera key or flash
* No D-pad (offers more precise navigation)
* Power key is really hard to press
* No TV out port
